A concise explanation of the operational information Recus handles when you sign up and run browser tests.
Privacy question →What we collect
When you create an account or start a QA run, Recus records the network IP address received by our server, an approximate country derived from that address, and the IANA timezone configured in your browser. We also process the account, target URL, prompts, test evidence, and service usage needed to provide Recus.
Why we use it
We use network and timezone information to protect the service from abuse, understand the countries where Recus is used, present operational notifications in context, investigate reliability problems, and support account and run auditing. IP-derived country information is approximate and may be affected by VPNs, mobile networks, or corporate proxies.
Where it appears
This information is private operational metadata. It is not included in public run responses. Authorized Recus operators may receive signup notifications, and a workspace’s configured Slack destination may receive completed-run notifications. IP addresses are masked in email and Slack notifications.
Retention and choices
We retain account and run metadata only for as long as needed for service operation, security, and legal obligations. You can request access, correction, or deletion of personal information by contacting Recus. Browser timezone access does not use GPS and does not trigger a location permission prompt.
